NEW IAN CURTIS FILM
Anton Corbijn’s cinematic homage to the ill-fated Joy Division singer Ian Curtis debuted at the Cannes Film Festival just one day short of the 27th anniversary of his suicide. The film, which opened to immediate critical acclaim, focuses on the love triangle between Curtis, his wife and his Belgian girlfriend, and is filmed in stark monochrome, mirroring Joy Division’s angular modernist music. Globally recognised for his photographs of bands such as U2 and Depeche Mode, Corbijn used Curtis as one of his earliest photographic subjects in the Eighties. The film is will be released in the UK in September 2007. http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk http://jetsociety.wordpress.com
